Our local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts has awarded the Genworth Financial Let’s Talk Tabloids with a Merit Award in the 2011 Grade 6 Awards. The tabloid is designed to encourage conversations by giving readers knowledge and tips on how to start a discussion, what to talk about and how to achieve goals specific to their needs and wants.

Also awarded was a Bronze in the Design category for the Owen D/Co. Holiday Mailer.

Fête Studio Letterhead Kit Wins Gold

The Fête Studio letterhead kit has won recognition from Neenah Paper in its 2010 3^rd Quarter PAPERWORKS letterhead competition. The kit includes a variety of brightly colored envelopes with opaque white ink and matching oval mailing labels,making them almost impossible to miss in the mail.

Guest Lecture at VCU’s Dept. of Painting and Printmaking

Peter Baldes, an associate professor in VCU’s Painting and Printmaking department invited me to give a guest lecture on the use of Adobe Illustrator. He wrote me this great thank you letter which I am proud to receive and share:

On behalf of myself and my Digital Printmaking class, I would like to thank you for your fantastic Adobe Illustrator demonstration this morning. You truly helped us gain understanding of the software on a fundamental level, and I am confident, based on my student’s activity after you left, that we(and myself) are able to solve our problems in a much more elegant, informed and creative way. In an effort to bring transparency to Virginia’s budget process, the T–Room is a blog site reporting live from the legislative money committees at the Statehouse. Our client had a vision of the logo and needed help bringing it to fruition. Owen Design Co. is happy to present the final identity and is currently wrapping up the web site. Comfort Zone Camp is Ready to Party

This spring the Comfort Zone Camp is going to throw their annual Grief Relief Gala. Comfort Zone provides grieving children with a voice, a place and a community in which to heal, grow and lead more fulfilling lives. With the help of Fête Studio the event is sure to be a success. Partnering with Fête to create a brand for the affair our goal was to communicate the warmth, support and encouragement the children of CZC receive when they attend camp.
